Telehealth is the New Norm

Based on state and national recommendations regarding the COVID-19, Manna Ministries began on March 1st to reassess our programs.  Assuring patients of our free primary care medical clinic had access to care and their prescribed medications was priority. Immediately, we implemented Telehealth Operations in order to protect our patients and our volunteers.  Many have been laid off from work, or reduced hours, so affording their medications, even low- cost medications have become a major hurdle. We have filled this gap in assisting them.

Easter basket goodies for the Senior shut-ins of COVID-19

Easter baskets were delivered to our community senior shut-ins. that were sheltering in place due to the outbreak of COVID-19

Food deliveries to shut ins, is a program we have had for many years. As a result of this, we began receiving multiple calls for food deliveries from older citizens who were afraid to leave their homes because of their level of high risk due to age and/or compromised health conditions. We began making deliveries of food, cleaning supplies, hygiene products, etc. to a senior housing community that had requested our assistance.  They were self-isolating and full of uncertainty about themselves and their families. We delivered food, supplies and some Easter baskets to bring them cheer.

Food Deliveries

Food Deliveries being made to COVID-19 shut-ins

Our community not only reached out regarding the shut-ins, but we soon received word that our local first responders also needed our help.  We immediately answered the call by delivering personal protective equipment, and hand sanitizers to our first responders, local clinics, and local hospital.  We are scrambling from two fronts now, to ramp up emergency services and to find volunteers and resources to help those in need.

If you would like to be the hands and feet of Jesus during this time of uncertainty, please give us a call at 601-799-2121.  Leave a message and we will respond as soon as we can.
